Are you an experienced Technical Consultant who is looking to step into an organisation that is really going places?   

As a Technical Consultant, you will report to the Professional Services Managing Director. Your responsibilities will cover many areas such as design, deployment, service delivery and when required on-going support.  Additionally, you’ll provide strategic guidance to clients about technology, IT infrastructures and enabling business processes through enhancements to IT. You’ll be use to identifying and working with different IT infrastructure and working environments.  

Other duties will include involvement in strategic project activities for our clients as well as helping to maintain and develop internal systems - Excellent organisational and time management skills required.  
 
Within this role you will also provide remote and onsite Technical Support for internal (staff) and external (clients) users of IT and Computer Systems. Also provide advice, when required, to the Help Desk (line 1 and 2 engineers) and deal with escalated incidents. 

 

What you’ll need: 

  • Education to degree level (computing or IT qualification) 

  • You will be at the level of MCSA 

  • In addition to the Windows operating systems above we are looking for you to have experience in Networks (including routers and switches), TCP/IP, MS Exchange, Active Directory, Backup solutions and Antivirus software. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products 

  • Experience of working on a variety of implementation projects and working with external software and hardware suppliers 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing, face to face and over the telephone with a wide range of audiences. 

  • Flexible, versatile and pragmatic approach to problem solving and decision making.   

  • Experience using network troubleshooting tools 

  • Thorough knowledge of client/server technology 

  • Knowledge of virtualisation platforms in particular Hyper-V or VMWARE 

 

Post holder must provide his or her own suitable transport, insured for business use and hold a full current UK driving licence  

Probation period – 6 months
