This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact with a company who are really going places! Over the past few years they’ve experienced a period of significant growth and positive change. Despite recent events they continue to be a fast-growing organisation and are now looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join their friendly team.

The company hugely value their IT team and the backing is very much there to improve and evolve their technology, so they are looking for someone who is able to really embrace a challenge and help shape the direction they take. They have a mix of on-premise and cloud based systems, so you would need to be someone who is happy working across a wide variety of solutions.

Working closely with the wider IT team, you’ll be responsible for providing day to day support and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and will act as a Technical Lead across many areas including networking, virtualisation, Microsoft stack, security, storage and cloud. You’ll have heaps of opportunity to show your initiative and there will be a strong emphasis on supporting the existing Infrastructure at a 3rd Line level - identifying, scoping and implementing improvements.

The role will involve building close working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, so you’ll have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The company are less fussed about qualifications - a proven track record and someone who share their values and will fit in well with the existing team is really key for them. If you do have relevant qualifications though, that’s a bonus!

What you’ll be responsible for:

•Ongoing maintenance and upkeep of internal systems including Active Directory, Networks, VMWare

•Administer, manage and maintain all aspects of the onsite network, servers and appliances, maintaining performance and ensuring stability and security

•Daily backups, systems monitoring, capacity planning, monthly patching, firmware management and updates

•Mentoring junior team members

•Making suggestions and coming up with ideas of how things could be improved

Key skills and experience you’ll need:

•Microsoft Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/GPO services

•Use of Microsoft Desktop Platforms

•A solid background with VMWare Virtualisation, building clustered solutions from scratch

•Network Administration (Switching, Routing, VLANs)

•Microsoft SQL Server build and administration experience is desirable but not essential

•The ability to convey technical information to a range of different audiences

•A proactive nature to identify and solve issues

•Self-motivation and a desire to get the job done to a high standard and improve practices

Please note: When travel restrictions are lifted and it’s safe to do so, there will be some occasional international travel.

In return the company offer a competitive salary and fantastic benefits package including a bonus scheme, health insurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and more.
