If you’d like to work for a rewarding and wholesome company that offers real ‘feel good factor’ then this role could be a brilliant fit.

You’ll be joining the Exeter team (although the company is global) but you’ll largely be working from home. They are fully remote at the moment, with plans to define a remote work policy later in the year - but it is likely to be very flexible with a maximum of 2 or 3 mandatory dates in the office and the rest of the days will be up to you where you want to be. They’re a really warm and friendly bunch who welcome new members of the team with open arms.

In terms of the role, you will be responsible for defining and coordinating actions across the business and with 3rd parties to deliver a successful software product. By determining requirements for our systems, prioritising them and making sure they are well communicated to the development team you’ll help ensure the features come to life in a way that represents all parties. Working in a SCRUM environment you’ll manage a living and breathing product backlog that is prioritised, and ensuring sprints are coordinated and delivered on time.

The position would be well suited to someone with previous Product Owner/Manager roles, or people with a Business Analyst/Systems Analyst background. Alternatively, you might also be a developer looking to get into a role which is more focused around business and people.

Requirements for the Product Owner role:

  • Recognised Agile Certified qualification such as Scrum Alliance Certified Product Owner.

  • At least 1 years’ experience working in an Agile environment with the aim of successful software deliver

  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver projects to agreed deadlines

  • A good understanding of the software development cycle

  • Experience writing and using industry standard technical requirements (case diagrams/story maps/populating backlogs)

  • Someone who has previously worked as part of a development team would be highly beneficial

  • Ability to code would be a plus point, but not essential

We’re looking for the following traits and attributes:

  • Technically minded with good people skills

  • Low ego with a high degree of empathy - willing to help and see users’ issues by understanding the root cause of problems

  • Will put the needs of the user first

  • Confident, resilient and have an ownership mindset

  • Up for a challenge and common sense to find solutions

  • Influential communication to ensure everyone understands the vision

In return you’ll receive a range of company benefits including enhanced holiday (including your birthday off), enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave, life insurance, company discount, regular social events and more.
