Sarah began working in recruitment in 1998 after relocating from the South East to Exeter. As a ‘top performer’ who doesn’t like to be held back by convention, Sarah’s answer to not being able to find a senior position in a recruitment agency locally was to start her own! Sarah wanted to create an agency that was all about delivering top notch service, as well as a great place to work. Those two fundamentals still sit at the heart of everything she and the team does.
A decade on, Sarah enjoys making the the process of hiring or finding a job as smooth and as stress free as possible. As a result, Sarah West Recruitment continues to go from strength to strength.
By the end of 2017, Sarah and her team had helped a third more people find their dream job, compared to the year before. Several local companies now trust Sarah West to find their new employees, exclusively.
In her spare time Sarah loves taking on some crazy sporting challenges, raising money for charity in the process. She’s climbed Kilimanjaro, ran the London Marathon, jumped out of a plane, cycled from London to Paris, completed the Dart’s 10k swim and did the first of many triathlons in 2016 – to name but a few of her achievements.

“I still dance round the office each time I make a placement. It doesn’t matter if it’s working for the public or private sector, finding a position for a senior executive, building a new team for a start up or helping someone to get their career off the ground. I absolutely love my job!

Lisa comes from an office management and HR background before she joined the Sarah West Recruitment team in 2014 as a Recruitment Consultant. Having been on the ‘other side of the table’ when recruiting staff, Lisa is now able to draw on her experience when recruiting. She understands what’s important to both the hiring manager and the job seeker and works hard to make sure that both are happy and kept up to date throughout the recruitment process. Lisa runs the Commercial Office division and spends her days working on administration, technical support, customer service, finance and HR roles.
Out of work Lisa enjoys keeping fit, walking with her Labrador and keeping up with the rugby as a big Chief's fan.
“My background in HR prepared me well to work in recruitment. I’ve seen the recruiting process from both sides so I have a unique view of what it’s like from everyone’s perspective. It can really help.”
Robyn comes from an account management, sales and hospitality background and has recently spent six months travelling the world before joining the Sarah West team.
While travelling, Robyn decided it was time to leave the hospitality industry behind and focus having a career doing something that excites her and makes her look forward to the week ahead. She’s absolutely passionate about finding people their dream job!
Robyn looks after our Sales Division so is constantly on the look out for people who have experience or who fancy carving out a career in this industry. She’s happy to have a chat if you’d like to find out more about the kind of roles she looks after or simply to find out if sales is going to be a good fit for you.
In her spare time, you’re likely to find Robyn on a rugby pitch as she’s part of the Cullompton Ladies team. She also enjoys movies, keeping fit, eating out and quiet evenings with a glass of wine.

Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator
Julia provides support for the recruitment team as well as to developing Sarah West Recruitment’s marketing activities.
Relocating to Devon had long been in her ‘life plan’ and in the summer of 2017 she decided to bite the bullet. If you want any top tips about moving to the South West, Julia’s the person to speak to!
In terms of her career history, Julia has broad marketing and communications experience. The first 12 years of her working life was spent with BT, starting out on BT Syntegra’s graduate programme, progressing to senior marketing manager and finally making the leap to internal communications.
After having her daughter, Julia took a career break and set up her own venue styling business. It gave her the opportunity to keep her business brain ticking over, with the flexibility to work around family.
Five year's on Julia went back to an office based role managing internal communications for The Cambridge Building Society.
