The South West HR Network

The Exeter HR Network was established by the Sarah West Recruitment team in early 2019, to bring together HR Professionals from around the City and surrounding area, providing members with access to expert speakers on a range of key topics, an opportunity to share learning and to meet others in similar roles.

Over the next 18 months, the group went from strength-to-strength, growing in numbers, with people joining from some of the area’s leading organisations and from a diverse range of industries including education, charity, SMEs and larger corporates too.

2020 gave us the chance to reflect on the format and the needs of the group - and make some changes – for the better. We moved the group online, that meant HR Professionals from outside the Exeter area, who found getting to the face-to-face meetings tricky, were now able to join too. We thrilled to now have members from all areas of the South West.

As well as taking taking the events online, in October 2020 we partnered with Nash & Co Solicitor’s to bolster the group's access to Employment Law expertise. Experts in their field, coupled with their base in Plymouth, makes for the perfect combination to support the growth of the Network geographically, and provide members with all they need to know when it comes to legislative changes.

We also relaunched the group as The South West HR Network to reflect the group's wider geographic reach.

What our members think

'"I joined the HR Network primarily to connect with fellow HR folk; which is something I miss being self-employed. The speakers are great and the topics thought-provoking, informative and highly enjoyable. I highly recommend the HR Network to keep you informed of the latest HR trends and updates as well as giving you access to a friendly and supportive Community."
