      We’re looking for an experienced new business field sales professional, who is based close to London, to look after a UK wide patch. The role is very much to open up conversations with prospects within the retail sector and manage the sales process through to close. It’s possible, due to the size and complexity of the sale that you’ll need to bring in other members of the team at varying points – deals normally close within 2-4 months. You’ll also be working with existing clients to generate additional revenues.

      Your week will be a mix of research, cold calling to generate appointments, networking and attending meetings with new and existing clients. You will of course also be expected to present to clients (and your team at times) and produce any relevant reports or sales related documentation.

      Frequent travel will be required and occasional overnight stays too.

      We are looking for someone with proven track record in new business IT/Technical sales – if you’ve sold software, hardware, managed services, connectivity or communication solutions we’d love to hear from you. If you have experience selling at ‘C-Suite’ level, into retail, that would be beneficial but is by no means essential. The priority is to find someone who is keen to learn, who can demonstrate a successful track record in new business sales/hitting targets and who is hungry to succeed – but also has the softer client management skills to build relationships and ensure a good customer experience.

      Due to the type of candidates you’ll be dealing with, much of the contact is over the phone and by email – although of course you’ll be someone who can tailor the channels you use, according to who you’re working with. As the Technical Sales Estimator, you’ll be the first point of contact. Customers may call you to discuss what their plan is.  This might be by email, face to face or picking up on enquiries that come through by email, social media or the website. Whichever way it is, you will be helping them, talking them through the options and understand what their needs are.

      You will be working in a team, and working on multiple projects at any one time.  Therefore your 1st class skills in organising your own workload and that of others will come to the forefront.

      Although this is a predominantly office-based role, there will be times when you’ll need to go on customer visits.

      Once you’ve confirmed the customer’s requirements, you’ll pull together the supporting quotation and work closely with them to refine and change it as necessary. This is when you will be in your element with your attention to detail, checking and re-checking the all of the elements of the quote are correct.

      As the Technical Sales Estimator you will be given full training on the system.
