Firstly, it’s important to say that this is NOT a sales role. This is a newly created role as part of my client’s commitment to providing an exceptional service to their clients.
This is a role working for a reputable IT company who operate in the South West. This is a strategic/consultancy type role where your focus is on understanding the client’s organisation and working with them in the long term as the ‘expert’ who is able to lead on how to use technology in the most effective way, keep them up to date with changes in technology and ultimately help your clients make informed/cost effective choices in order they can achieve their business goals and stay ahead! The company provide a broad range of services and products, so you could find yourself in conversations around anything a business might need such as Microsoft Windows software and server operating systems, server hardware, Active Directory, Office 365, Backup solutions, Antivirus software, hosted telephony, virtualisation and security.
This role could suit someone who has previously been in a senior technical support/engineering role or maybe someone who has sold IT and wants to get away from sales and into a more consultancy/relationship orientated role. What is essential is that applicants can demonstrate a keen interest in technology, experienced in writing technical documentation, providing detailed client proposals and reporting on IT systems reviews. You will be able/excited to work with a varied client base, each with its own challenges and priorities, and thrive partnering with different stakeholders in different environments.
You will be based from the Exeter office but there will be regular travel to client sites for meetings – but we don’t envisage any overnight stays.

As a Software Support Analyst you’ll be responsible for:
Answering customer calls and responding to emails related to their software and hardware systems
Assisting customers with local computer or device issues which affect their systems
Configuring mobile phones and printers
Setting up new client accounts
Assisting Developers with system development, testing and bug fixes
Providing internal support and supporting client management systems
Covering the helpdesk out of hours on a rota basis

We are looking for an experienced analyst, with technical aptitude, who is looking for a role to build upon their skills that will see you supporting the whole business. You will be working across the company, so naturally you will be someone who is great at building relationships and gets to understand what different departments wants and needs are, see the bigger picture and make those vital connections in what is happening: why, where, when and how and have an input and reporting on how improvements and savings can be made.
The experience you will have will have seen you working with large sets of data, using Excel and an advanced level, and building dashboards. If you have used SQL as well, that would be an advantage.
Your role as a Business Analyst will include:
Developing reports that will allow the business to measure against the company’s goals and objectives
Managing pricing related data and producing associated reports
Explaining to others the findings of the reports and process to change any information on the system
Ensure that data is thoroughly checked and cross referenced
Produce high quality MI and KPI reports.
The skills and experience that we are looking for in a Business Analyst:
Working with large sets of data
Advanced level of Excel
Building dashboards and insightful reports
Great communication skills
Ability to explain findings and comfortable with doing this throughout departments
Identify requirements, issues and strive to deliver improvements
SQL would be desirable.

Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager Exeter Up to £35k DOE
We’re currently recruiting a Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager to join an internationally established and highly successful company based in Exeter.
Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a key position leading a team of three to process raw, commercial data into information that can be easily understood and used to make insightful business decisions, both at a strategic and operational level.
Your role will be hands-on as you’ll be heavily involved in the creation, delivery and evolution of the company’s BI strategy, as well as ensuring the team work together collaboratively to deliver valuable insight.
In a nutshell, your role will involve:
Overseeing the day to day activities and projects and leading the team to ensure optimum productivity
Developing new reporting functionality and analysis using market and pricing data, promoting data driven decision making within the company
Working in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to understand BI requirements, priorities, key performance indicators (KPI’s)
Leading on the development of processes (including automation where possible)
Streamlining data collection and analysis procedures
Reporting findings to Senior Management and making recommendations
Ensuring compliance to all areas of data handling and promote good practice of data handling
Required skills and experience:
Highly experienced with Transactional SQL and data modelling, advanced user in Excel, report writing, data interrogation and Strategic Scenario Modelling
Ability to positively manage others and lead by example with a natural ability to teach and help others professionally
A strategic thinker with strong BI skills
A confident communicator
Ability to multi-task and juggle conflicting priorities
A natural problem-solver with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
A degree would be beneficial – ideally in a financial or statistical subject
