Guide salary (£35-45k) + car allowance

Exeter base with South West travel.

Firstly, it’s important to say that this is NOT a sales role.  This is a newly created role as part of my client’s commitment to providing an exceptional service to their clients.

This is a role working for a reputable IT company who operate in the South West. This is a strategic/consultancy type role where your focus is on understanding the client’s organisation and working with them in the long term as the ‘expert’ who is able to lead on how to use technology in the most effective way, keep them up to date with changes in technology and ultimately help your clients make informed/cost effective choices in order they can achieve their business goals and stay ahead! The company provide a broad range of services and products, so you could find yourself in conversations around anything a business might need such as Microsoft Windows software and server operating systems, server hardware, Active Directory, Office 365, Backup solutions, Antivirus software, hosted telephony, virtualisation and security.

This role could suit someone who has previously been in a senior technical support/engineering role or maybe someone who has sold IT and wants to get away from sales and into a more consultancy/relationship orientated role. What is essential is that applicants can demonstrate a keen interest in technology, experienced in writing technical documentation, providing detailed client proposals and reporting on IT systems reviews. You will be able/excited to work with a varied client base, each with its own challenges and priorities, and thrive partnering with different stakeholders in different environments.

You will be based from the Exeter office but there will be regular travel to client sites for meetings – but we don’t envisage any overnight stays.

We are looking for someone warm, friendly and outgoing who can communicate well at all levels and hold an engaging conversation. Must be focused on getting the best outcomes, giving great advice and support. This person will also be process driven, coachable and have a ‘can do’ attitude.

You’ll need a full UK driving license.

In short, you’ll be given responsibility for some of this organisation’s largest, key accounts that are well-known, household names. As well as making sure the current relationship’s on track and customer satisfaction remains super-high, a big part of your role will be to help inspire your clients with the art of the possible, for future orders too.

Therefore, it’s important that you’re someone who likes to keep up do date with developments and trends both inside, and outside, particularly where there’s innovative ideas to shout about or changes to a process, for example, that’ll be of interest to your clients.

Experience-wise you’ll need to have a strong background in sales, most recently in an Account Management role. You’ll be professional and credible and everything you do will scream ‘quality’. You’ll be highly commercially aware, work well under pressure and can stay calm at the same time! Using Excel will be second nature to you, as will analysing customer information/data that’ll help drive account growth.

As a real people person, you’ll find it easy to build trusted relationships with both internal and external teams you work with. You’ll be reporting in to one of the Directors.

Although this is an office-based role, it’s expected that you’ll spend some of your time at the client’s site too.

This really is an awesome company to work for and it’s a hugely exciting time to join them as they continue to grow and roll out some exciting plans.

The role comes with a good competitive salary, company bonus and excellent benefits package. Get in touch with Robyn if you’d like to find out more!
