This is a varied role for an IT specialist who enjoys being client facing, solving business problems using technology whilst also being hands on in terms of scoping projects as well as deploying them. Whether you currently work for a managed service provider or you’re in an in-house role, we’d be keen to speak to you.
This is a job that’s working regular office days with overtime if you want it – with the occasional overnight stay if your project is outside the area.
This position is a mix of meeting clients/consultancy, giving guidance and advice with regards to the technicalities of an installation/upgrade/migration, designing solutions, planning/managing projects and being hands on in terms of the deployment/service delivery and if required, some support. You’ll also provide strategic insight and guidance to clients with regard to technology/IT.
Whilst you’ll be involved after the sale has been agreed you might be asked to have some input into proposals and quotations –just so that you can make sure what’s being quoted for is realistic/achievable!
We’re looking for an experienced IT/Technical Consultant who has a good knowledge of Microsoft technologies. You should be interested in ongoing learning, in fact your salary will go up as you develop your skills and experience. This company really do want you to be the best you can be and will support your ongoing learning. You’ll need great communication and organisational skills and be someone who works with accuracy to deadlines. Must be able to manage client expectations and experience in a way that results in high client satisfaction.
We’d be keen to find someone educated to degree level (computing or IT qualification) at the level of MCSA – although the right experience really is more important!
In addition to the Windows operating systems above we are looking for you to have experience in networks/routers/switches, TCP/IP, MS Exchange, Active Directory, Backup solutions and Antivirus software.
You’ll have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products, thorough knowledge of client/server technology and knowledge of virtualisation platforms.
You’ll be joining a growing company and working with some interesting organisations and be responsible for running some great projects!
You need to be able to drive. The company have a pool car you can use but you may need to use your own car at times and you’ll be fully reimbursed for your costs.
You’ll also need to pass a CRB check.
