This is a brand new role, for the Exeter office, for this growing tech firm.
Your role will be to schedule IT engineer visits for emergency call outs to customer's premises. The call will initially come into the helpdesk and if the fault can’t be resolved on the phone it will be escalated to you to arrange a site visit. The customers and engineers are UK wide and so this role is very much about working out the order of priorities and making logical decisions about who should attend which job and in what order – in order to reduce engineer’s travel and maximise ‘working time’ each day. Some issues are more urgent than others and so there is an element of having to continually prioritise the departments workload whilst liaising with engineers and keeping customers updated.
You do not need to be technical as such, but we do need you to be calm under pressure, able to make logical decision and be an expert at planning and managing diaries! It would help if you had a good understanding of UK geography, although accessing online maps would be just as acceptable.
The company are all working from home at the moment and it’s expected you would also do this in the first instance. There is some flexibility for some home working to be considered on a long-term basis too though.
Whilst this role is very much working 'office days' each week there is a requirement for 1 hour of work each Sunday to schedule appointments for the following Monday, which will be well paid in addition to the salary mentioned.
