If you are an experienced Project Manager looking for a new challenge, and you have a proven track record of managing and delivering complex and varied projects then this could be for you! You’ll need to have worked in a Project Manager role with experience with User Acceptance Testing and training users.

The purpose of the role is to drive strategic projects to help the company to meet their short and long-term objectives. You’ll manage a portfolio of projects each with unique requirements, working closely with other departments and third parties to ensure things run smoothly. Every day will be varied as you’ll be responsible for seeing each project through the planning, direction, implementation and documentation stages. As an international company, the projects you’ll be working on will more than likely involve one, or more different countries.

Additionally, when required for a specific project you will play a key role in manager User Acceptance Testing. This will include defining the testing approach and timeline, training the business users on providing their testing plan and scenarios, liaising with the internal IT team to ensure ongoing alignment, coordinating testing execution and managing sign-off and the go live decision process.

You’ll be part of a small (but busy!) Project Management team within a successful international distribution company based in Exeter.

Day to day, your role will involve:

  • Planning and implementing a range of strategic projects

  • Helping to define project scopes, goals and deliverables

  • Managing budgets and allocating project resources

  • Monitor and report on project progress

  • Identify and resolve issues and risks

  • Managing project related documentation

Skills and experience required for the Strategic Project Manager role:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Project Management role, managing cross-functional projects with an IT element

  • A Project Management qualification is highly desirable

  • Experience managing User Acceptance Testing for systems development is essential (planning, design, execution reporting)

  • Someone with experience in training users, including developing training materials

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Methodical and structured approach with an ability to manage competing priorities

You’ll be working standard office hours and the company offer a generous benefits package including 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, private health insurance, an enhanced pension contribution scheme and onsite parking. There’s also an annual bonus dependent on company’s performance.

Please note: Due to Covid-19 the company will be working remotely until it's safe to return to the office. Longer term the role will predominantly be office based, however it's very likely there will be flexibility around this if you wanted to work from home for some of the time.
