​We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join a successful software company working with the latest tools, techniques and technology. To ensure a highly available service for their clients, you’ll be responsible for responding to incidents and providing the best tooling and best practise for the team of developers. ​

It’s an exciting time to join as they embark on a journey to transform their application. As part of this, you’ll be working on some really interesting projects such as creating a Data Warehousing solution for their growing reporting needs, and transitioning their application from virtual machines into a containerised service-oriented architecture.

Your responsibilities as a Site Reliability Engineer:

  • Develop and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using Terraform in an ‘Infrastructure as Code’ (IaC) environment deployed in AWS

  • Impact analysis and scheduling of future releases

  • Supporting and improving the company’s current CI / CD processes using Jira, Bitbucket and Gitlab

  • Creating and maintaining development tooling

  • Reacting to and documenting business impact analysis for unplanned system downtime

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Terraform using AWS (primarily) and CloudFlare providers

  • Experience working with Kubernetes

  • Git (or similar) version control

  • Someone who has created documentation/manuals for users at all levels

  • Containerisation experience including: build automation, testing, deployment

  • Understanding Workflow definitions in Jira

  • Ownership and management of developer stack tooling

  • Someone who is curious and wants to develop their knowledge of current and future technologies ​

​This role will initially be remote due to Covid-19, but they plan to return to the office once normal working conditions resume. There is some flexibility to work from home for part of the week too.
