The team of developers take ownership of everything from requirements clarification, design, build, test, requester approval and launch. There’s also the ongoing maintenance across their software suite. Whilst that might sound a little daunting to someone who hasn’t worked in this environment before, it’s a really supportive team and it’s hugely rewarding seeing projects through from idea/concept stage right the way through to the final product.

Day to day you’ll design, develop and maintain great solutions for this company’s customers, partners and internal teams, so your work will have internal and external impact. You’ll be expected to express your views on the right technologies and investigate, research and solve technical challenges – the company continually evaluate their technology options to ensure they’re using the right approach for each project (e.g. PHP, Ruby, Go, Node.js, Laravel, Symfony, NoSQL, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Essential skills and experience as a Senior Software Developer:

  • Previous experience building complex software systems in an agile environment

  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users

  • Experience designing and building data-driven web applications, integrating with third party RESTful APIs

  • Analytical, methodical, natural problem solver and someone with good attention to detail

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of PHP 7, MySQL and MVC frameworks in a Linux environment

  • Use of test-driven development techniques

  • Experience using Jira or similar

  • Automated testing and continuous delivery
