Our client is an Exeter based IT company who provide tailored solutions to a range of clients across Devon and beyond. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as a Senior IT Technician, focusing on the response and resolution of client issues, configuring and deploying new solutions, and developing existing services to meet client’s needs. Your role will be varied – you’ll be supporting Microsoft products, broadband, DNS, networking and infrastructure. You’ll also help to guide and develop other members of the team.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Responding to, analysing and diagnosing issues via phone, email etc and ensuring they are responded to in line with SLA’s.
Set up and install hardware, software and network products and services where required, either remotely or on site
Providing expert and accurate advice to clients as required
Communicating clearly with clients, adapting communication style as needed
Managing expectations and keeping clients informed of the progress of IT issues, projects, equipment or software supply
Working with the wider team to prevent repeat issues or predictable problems, putting in place proactive measures to reduce impact on clients where possible
As a Senior IT Technician you will have the following skills and experience:
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience with user account management, network shares, backup and restore
Troubleshooting LAN, WLAN, WAN issues and familiarity with common components (switches, access points, routers, firewalls)
Confident with Microsoft Windows operating systems including server and client operating systems
Good working knowledge of one or more virtualisation platforms
Microsoft directory, productivity and cloud services including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Office 365, Exchange Online, Azure
Excellent communication skills, methodical and organised problem solving approach
You’ll need a valid driving license as you’ll occasionally be required to visit sites across Devon from time to time.
