This is a brand-new role working for a hugely well-established and growing manufacturing company who are looking for an Account Manager to join their growing team.
In short, you’ll be responsible for managing the relationships and considerable spend with this organisation’s third-party couriers that are based around the world. You’ll actively manage and monitor their performance and make sure they’re providing a super-efficient and cost-effective service. You’ll also work closely with the operations teams and have overall responsibility for the smooth running of all freight movements, world-wide.
As well as managing existing relationships you’ll also seek out other potential suppliers to help benchmark existing contracts to make sure they remain competitive and are delivering on the service-side too. Through this you’ll also identify any potential cost-saving opportunities. As you’ll be dealing with large amounts of data to do this, you’ll need to have good Excel.
This role will also see you leading tenders, managing the negotiation and contract signing process.
As a real people person, you’ll find it easy to build trusted relationships with both internal and external teams you work with. You’ll have had recent experience in a similar role (a must have) and are passionate about doing everything you do, exceptionally well. This is a busy role, so you’ll be someone that enjoys juggling multiple priorities and getting things done.
