A successful software company in Exeter are recruiting a Lead Support Developer to join their passionate development team. It’s a varied role as you’ll be involved with ‘hands on’ development, as well as helping to provide technical software support across multiple clients and systems.
You’ll be someone with a proactive, positive and can-do approach as you’ll be engaging with clients directly, investigating the root causes of any issues that arise and proposing appropriate solutions. As the Lead, you’ll also get involved with mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team too.
Your responsibilities as the Lead Support Developer:
3rd Line Support - first point of escalation for all technical support issues
Ensuring issues are logged and responded to in line with SLA’s and ensure clients are kept up to date regularly
Taking ownership of assigned technical analysis, design and development tasks
Provide input into technical hygiene plans and system roadmaps for clients
Carry out health checks or maturity assessments when required
Proactively identify and resolve issues and spot opportunities where clients would benefit from additional services
Experience you’ll need for this role:
Brilliant organisation and time-management skills, and able to switch tasks easily
Strong communication skills and ability to talk to technical and non-technical clients - over the phone, in person and via email
Experience working with call handling and tracking software
Relevant Microsoft qualifications are a bonus, but not essential
Although the company are based in Exeter, they’re open to candidates from across the UK as they offer remote working and this will continue long-term. There is a requirement that you’ll visit the office for big company events or meetings, which they estimate will be around once a month.
