We’re recruiting for a pioneering technology company located on the outskirts of Exeter. They’re looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join their team – someone who has worked in a similar role would be a great fit, but they’ll also consider a recent graduate who has studied a relevant subject like Maths or Computer Science.

This role will support the wider data team with the delivery of projects and solutions through your analysis of complex data. Helping to streamline their product and inform strategic decision making, so you’ll be someone who is confident in presenting your findings in a clear and engaging way.

 

Your role as a Junior Data Analyst in a nutshell:

  • Running internal reports on a regular basis on business metrics and KPI’s

  • Creating reports for external use based on product data

  • Putting together ad-hoc reports for both internal and external use

  • Gathering data from a variety of different sources (Excel, MySQL databases and Salesforce) and manipulating it

  • Writing and improving MySQL queries, Python and Excel VBA code

  • Providing appropriate insight on your findings from gathered data and presenting them

  • Implementing automated reports where possible

  • Improving the presentation of reports to make them easier to read and interpret

 

The skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in a similar role analysing data – a graduate in a relevant subject such as Maths or Computer Science would also be considered

  • Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables (Intermediate level)

  • Experience with Python

  • SQL/MySQL scripts and databases is preferable, but training can be provided

  • Someone who is keen to develop their skills and interested in learning software/programming languages

  • Brilliant interpersonal skills and someone who is results-orientated

  • Someone who would enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
