We’re working with this market-leading organisation, exclusively, for their Head of Development role. Since we started working with this company, we’ve enjoyed watching them go from strength to strength and 2020 is still very much on track to be an impressive year, with some ambitious plans in the pipeline for 2021 and beyond too. This role is key to supporting and contributing to their ongoing growth.

As Head of Development, you’ll oversee the technical design and delivery of the product road map. You’ll work with clients – which include many household names - from the start of a project, through to delivery and beyond. From your recent experience you’ll be able to show that you’re someone who can ensure the overall delivery of complex client projects, and support the development team to keep their eyes on the detail to make sure they’re on schedule and within budget.

Background-wise you have to be able to demonstrate strong PHP, MySQL & LAMP framework experience, together with a solid understanding of Agile development methods. As a client-facing role, you’ll also adept at presenting to senior stakeholders – internally and externally.

Over and above your development capabilities we’re looking for a people-person. You’ll be a natural leader who can get the balance right between getting things done and being approachable too. As you’ll be working with people at all different stages of their career, you’ll have a knack of knowing how to adapt your leadership style - you’ll need to inspire each of them – to create a culture for innovation.

Ideally, we’re looking for an experienced Head of Development but this role could also suit a Senior Developer, who has experience of coaching and managing a small team, who’s looking to take a step up.

While the company’s in a good place they’ll be looking to you to come in with a fresh pair of eyes and take a look at the how things are managed and make changes for the better, where you can.

Person-wise this is going to suit someone who’s looking to take on their next challenge, who’s able to take on the role and ‘do’ from day one. You’ll be excited by the organisation’s growth plans and the contribution you’re going to be able to make long term.

You’ll be part of an ambitious, senior management team and fully supported by them as you make the transition into this role. The company are based on the outskirts of Exeter and have a great benefits package on top the basic salary and discretionary bonus scheme.
