This is great opportunity for a Finance Administrator/Assistant to join a busy, evolving financial team on a permanent basis to predominantly maintain the purchase/sales ledger function but also assist with day-to-day accounting, based at this organisation's Head Office on the outskirts of Exeter.

The Role 

The main responsibilities are:

  • Answering the phones and emails and dealing with all supplier account enquires

  • Management of all purchase ledger elements to include obtaining authorisation of all invoices, recharge coding for other offices, inputting of purchase ledger invoices onto Sage 200, and allocation of supplier payments.

  • Processing supplier payments into Sage 200 in preparation for bank reconciliation and payment proposals

  • Monthly review and management of aged creditor listing and supplier statements reconciliations to ensure an orderly ledger.

  • Preparation of required payment proposals to submit to management for payment

  • Processing expenses

  • Reconcile receipts against monthly credit card statements for all company credit cards

  • Management of petty cash for all branches

  • Calculation of monthly supplier rebate accrual

  • Management of import and export spreadsheet

  • Setting up supplier accounts within Sage 200 and closing of inactivate accounts

  • Archiving supplier invoices.

You’ll have proven organisational skills to adapt to changing environments – the ability to think on your feet and be one step ahead

Have excellent PC skills including Word, Excel and Outlook experience with Sage 200 preferred but not essential (training will be given, Sage 50 experience is transferrable)

Have the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively – multi-tasking and prioritising workload

Possess good people skills - confident and friendly, understand the needs of your colleagues and suppliers

Good problem-solving skills - be flexible and quick thinking, be good at teamwork and able to work on their own initiative
