​We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist to join an exceptional technology company based in Exeter. You’ll be the company’s subject matter expert so will have plenty of BI experience and ideas to contribute to ensure the company work to the highest standards and continue to innovate.

The company work with clients across a variety of industries including some big, well-known brands who are becoming increasingly aware of the commercial benefits of understanding and tracking their data. There will be two key areas you’ll get involved with to help with this - visualising and displaying relevant datasets by writing queries, and the ongoing development and maintenance of their databases and data warehouses. This provides their clients with a clear, well-presented dashboard to help them to understand these analytics to help them to drive their marketing activities and measure their success.

Your role as Business Intelligence Specialist will involve:

  • Subject-matter expert in Business Intelligence

  • Helping to establish and own a template-based approach to the company’s analytics platform

  • Liaising with the UI/UX team to deliver accurate data and modern functionalities that are visually strong too

  • Keeping up to date with the latest BI trends to ensure ongoing innovation

  • Working closely with other teams within the company, including Sales and Marketing, to understand market trends and customer requirements

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • 3 years’ + experience in a professional BI Specialist role (or similar)

  • Demonstrable business intelligence experience using various techniques and technologies

  • Knowledge of relational databases and how to write SQL queries

  • Knowledge of data modelling concepts

  • Experience with ETL tools that consume various data sets

  • Knowledge of Splunk as a BI tool would be beneficial but not essential, but you’ll need to learn how to write Splunk queries for dashboard visualisations

  • Experience of Scrum Framework and previously worked in an Agile team delivering projects and products

  • A natural problem solver with good time management skills

  • Someone who takes pride in their work and has the appetite to learn new skills
