As an Project Engineer Specialist, your focus will be to implement new products and solutions to a wide range of clients based across the South West – this could be anything from Office 365 migrations, Server installations and replacements, Azure implementations, PC/Laptop installs, or wireless installations. You’ll get involved with planning, scoping and installing strategic projects through to completion, ensuring issues are managed and a fantastic customer experience is maintained.
The role will also see you providing remote and onsite technical support and advice to clients, as well as supporting the Service Desk team with any complex or escalated incidents.
As you’d expect, this role will see you out and about visiting customer sites so you’ll need to be able to drive and happy to travel and work onsite regularly (you will receive a car allowance and business mileage).
Key responsibilities as an IT Project Specialist:
Implementing different projects including Office 365 migrations, Server replacements, Firewall installations, PC/laptop installs, wireless and phone system installations and more.
Managing the project cycle from initiation through to completion, including assessing risk and change management
Creating and implementing project plans, considering the customer’s time and budget
Evaluation and recommendation of new products
Provide 3rd Line support and covering the Service Desk during holiday or sickness
Assisting with client onboarding activities
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
At least 2 years’ in a 2nd or 3rd Line role (or similar) with onsite experience
Have experience with the following technologies and systems:
Microsoft Windows Workstation and server operating systems
Active Directory and Group Policy Management
Microsoft 365
VOIP and SIP Telephony systems
Server virtualisation platforms (VMWare and Hyper-V)
Networking equipment including Routers, Switches and Firewalls
Security Services including firewalls and anti-virus software
Backup Solutions
Strong client relationship skills - a great communicator, listening skills and ability to communicate effectively
Industry recognised qualifications such as MTA, MCP, MCSA, CCNA, N+ or S+ are highly desirable but not essential
