​Are you looking for a new job opportunity in Plymouth where you can get involved with a variety of technical projects? We’re recruiting for 3rd Line IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly reputable and successful company who provide a range of bespoke solutions.

As an expert in your field you’ll be responsible for upholding the reliability of client infrastructure and operating systems. You’ll also take the lead in recommending and installing solutions for technical projects so will have prior experience of planning, scoping and installing strategic projects through to delivery. You will also be the escalation point for the 1st and 2nd Line teams.

Your responsibilities as a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer will involve:

  • Designing, delivering and installing infrastructure solutions for both new and existing clients

  • Liaising with internal members of the team (Project Management and Sales) to specify needs and ensure requirements are meet at all stages.

  • Responsible for the monitoring, patching and tuning of customer environments

  • Assisting the 1st and 2nd Line Engineers as required

  • Provide proactive, effective and timely systems administration

  • Works a technical lead in relation to any episodes of incident management

  • Be able to work to and achieve agreed SLAs

Skills and experience you’ll need:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in an MSP

  • Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Delivering solutions including onsite installs

  • High-level planning and managing technical change

  • Would be highly beneficial if someone has experience managing other technical engineers

  • Experience of deploying and configuring some of the following: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Microsoft Desktop Environments, Office 365 & Intune, experience and knowledge of PowerShell scripting

  • Experience of liaising directly with customers

  • Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMware are desirable

Due to the nature of the role, candidates will need to have a valid driving license and live within a commutable distance of Plymouth.
