Introducing Emma Broomfield – Recruitment Consultant

Now a couple of weeks in, we caught up with our latest team member Emma to find out what attracted her to Sarah West Recruitment, what she thinks makes a good consultant and what she gets up to outside of work.

What attracted you to SWR?

There were several things that attracted me to Sarah West, working with a bigger team and with people that have been in the industry for a long time, the opportunity to focus on and develop areas of specialism really appealed too. I’m also really pleased that I can put my previous experience to good use by focusing on HR and Finance roles specifically.

What does your role look like/involve?

I’m going to be focused on HR and Finance roles putting my previous industry experience to good use. Roles will be varied for these areas covering assistants, administrators, managers, advisors and more. I’m looking forward to continuing the growth of this desk at Sarah West.

What do you think makes a good consultant?

I’d have to say being able to truly listen.

As a consultant it’s so important to listen to clients and candidates so that we truly understand what someone is looking for. It also gives us the opportunity to use our experience, think outside the box and potentially suggest things that weren’t expected by the client or candidate but are a great option.

What’s your background?

I’ve got a really varied background and have worked within HR, recruitment and in PA roles all of which have given me a really rounded view of how different departments and role’s function. In terms of industry I’ve worked across manufacturing, automative and eCommerce to name a few!

What are you looking forward to most?

There are so many things! From building my career, meeting new clients, and building relationships with them, growing the HR and Finance desk at Sarah West, learning from the wider team and of course finding and placing candidates in their dream jobs!

What do you go up to outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time gardening or working on a house project. When I’m not doing those things, you’ll likely find me pitch side cheering on my son at rugby or walking our dog.
